2nd flush Indian Assam and black tea from the Nandi Highlands of Kenya are blended with south Indian spices. Contains ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, black and white pepper, clove and nutmeg. Try with a spoonful or two of vanilla ice cream for a rich treat.
Traditionally brewed in milk instead of water.
Pairs well with aged cheddar, Camembert or brie, dark chocolate and all Indian foods.
Suggested uses: Make and refrigerate a concentrate then simply add some to a glass of milk when needed. Add some concentrate to a simple syrup for an awesome ice cream topping. Marinate fish. Mix a little with rum to create a unique adult beverage.
Assam tea is known for its body, malty flavor and briskness. The 2nd flush contains more gold tips than 1st flush and is sweeter and more full bodied. 2nd flush is considered superior to 1st flush.
The Nandi Highlands is a section of Kenya about 6500 feet above sea level. It consists of green, lush rolling hills in southwest Kenya at the edge of the Great Rift Valley. The climate is generally cool and wet and the soil is rich with volcanic rock. A perfect environment for growing delicious teas.
