Grown and harvested by hand in the zheng yan area of the Dahongpao Scenic Area.
This is one of two cultivars created directly from a cutting of the original Da Hong Pao trees. Tea from the other cultivar is called Qi Dan. Medium roasted over lychee charcoal. Lychee charcoal produces no smoke and adds no flavor. Very balanced flavor with no harshness or astringency and with a good mineral taste.
This tea is pure Bei Duo cultivar. It is not blended.

We highly recommend using a gaiwan to get the most out of this tea. Start with a quick rinse at 212F followed by repeated steeps at 212F. An 8-10 second first steep works well.
