Organic Ancient Yunnan Black Tea is harvested from the world-famous ancient tea trees of the Yunnan province This tea has a deep, well-rounded taste. Each sip contains a complex array of flavors ranging from walnuts, ripe fruit, peppery spice and sweet raisin. Subtle notes of cocoa whisper gently during the malty, lingering finish.
Ancient trees are between 100 and 2000 years old. These trees are wild and usually found in hard to reach areas. The Yunnan government banned by law the use of pesticides on ancient trees.
Because of their age, ancient trees have enormous root systems giving them access to vast quantities of various nutrients and allowing it to draw up more than a young tree. This allows the flavor of the leaf to be far superior than that of younger trees and also delivers more nutrients to the drinker.
