Xing Ren Xiang - 2017 Phoenix Dan Cong Loose Leaf Oolong Tea
Our 2017
Xing Ren Xiang Dan Cong Oolong Tea comes from a small, family owned tea garden on the volcanic soil of Wudong village in the Phoenix mountains of Guangdong Province and translates to Almond Blossom Fragrance. This rare tea is also called Ju Duo Zai. The leaves are long and thin with sawtooth edges.
Harvested on April 4, 2017, this loose leaf dan cong was processed completely by hand except for sorting. It has been medium roasted and has an almond blossom aroma and a sweet floral flavor with a long lasting sweet aftertaste.
This tea is exceptionally smooth and balanced. Tastes of almond, stone fruit and citrus mingle and change in intensity through repeated steeps.
Our 2017 Xing Ren Xiang Phoenix Dan Cong will give strong, clear brews at least 8 times.

Our review:
Using a 90ml gaiwan with 5 grams of tea. Each infusion was done with boiling water.
This 2017 Xing Ren Xiang Phoenix Mountain Dan Cong oolong tea is an amazing tea with great flavor and aroma. I steeped 8 times using a little over 1/2 liter of water. An excellent tea leaf to soup ratio makes this a great value. The common oolong taste took a backseat to the sweet floral and fruit notes. Soup was golden and clear. Should appeal to drinkers of white, green and oolong tea.
